The daily price leaderboard — stocks that moved most today — is the most primitive and most watched market data point. Gainers often show continued momentum over the next several sessions (short-term price continuation is one of the most robustly documented market anomalies). Losers may be candidates for continued selling (momentum persists downward as well) or for contrarian reversal plays (mean reversion). This screener has no fundamental content — it is purely observational. But it is the most visited page on screener.in every single trading day, because it answers the most basic question a market participant asks: what moved today, and why?
A stock must satisfy every condition below. Conditions are grouped under the pillar they test.

Percentage change in closing price versus the prior day's close. Positive for gainers, negative for losers. Sorted descending for the gainers leaderboard and ascending for the losers leaderboard.
A 5%+ daily move in a large-cap stock is significant and almost always has a catalyst (results, news, block deal, upgrade). A 5% move in a small-cap stock may be routine or illiquidity-driven. Volume context is critical for interpreting whether the move is meaningful.
High is better
Trading Volume (Shares)
Total shares traded during the day. High volume on a big price move confirms genuine market interest.
A large price move on very low volume (thin trading) is often a statistical artifact and not meaningful. A large price move on above-average volume means real participants are taking large positions at the new price.
